MRS. HOLLY BRINK OF NORTHWEST IOWA REALTY LISTS 10 HOMES THAT QUALIFY FOR $15K IN GRANT MONEY

For Immediate Release:

Spencer, Iowa – Mrs. Holly Brink, a listing specialist, REALTOR ® with Northwest Iowa Realty, announced this week she has listed ten homes in the Spencer community that qualify for $15,000 in grant money.

With the City of Spencer, Spencer Municipal Utilities, Clay County, and local financial institutions all pledging funds for up to $15,000 for purchases of new mid-range personal residences in the Spencer community, Mrs. Holly Brink is committed to ensuring her clients receive the grant money that is available to them.

“This grant is available for everyone, regardless of income, and I do my part to ensure buyers receive the money that they rightfully deserve,” said Mrs. Holly Brink. “In addition to the grant money, the city is also offering five years tax abatement with an estimated savings of $7,000 over the course of five years!”

The ten remaining homes reside in the Gateway by IGL development on the south end of Spencer; in a certified non-flood zone. IGL Construction completed the project in 2016, and recently partnered with Mrs. Holly Brink of Northwest Iowa Realty to market the homes for sale, including listing them on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). She was also tasked with representing the builder as the seller’s agent in the transaction. Thirteen homes in the community have already been sold and the residents are excited to welcome new neighbors. Brink and her family also reside in the Gateway community.

The Spencer Quality Housing Initiative Grant, administered by the Spencer Area Jobs Trust, includes the following conditions: the grants are only for the acquisition of a new personal home within the city limits; the appraised value or actual cost of the home and land shall not be less than $110,000 and not more than $199,500; the grant funds will be disbursed to the financial institution at the closing of the purchase or at the closing of permanent financing following completion of the newly constructed residence; and that grant commitments will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
